PARANOIA - single
player total conversion mod based on
Half-Life (GoldSrc engine).
I am responsible
for the game design, story, all game
levels, scripted scenes and world
textures (2004-2007).
PARANOIA has been
released on 3rd December 2007 and became
one of the most popular single player
mods in Half-Life community. It has been
downloaded more than 100 000 times since
release date. In June 2010 a port of
PARANOIA was released for the Sega
Dreamcast.

You will play the
role of a russian officer of the secret
service. Your first impressions are that
this mission will be just like any other,
but you really have no idea what
nightmares future events have in store
for you...

"This
Russian effort has a Stalker vibe and
soundtrack by Moscow nu-metal band Slot.
Not many games claim 'impossible'
visuals, but it does have a point:
Half-Life's tech comes from the first
Quake. Here, it shines projected lights
on bump-mapped surfaces. Quizzed about
its brutal anti-terrorist theme, its
author rather worryingly answers:
"It is our reality."

"Paranoia
manages to look, sound and play great.
The kicker here is: it's doing it on the
Half Life 1 engine. While the technical
merits alone allow Paranoia to compete
for attention amongst its current
generation rivals, the team has also made
good on the overall narrative and pacing
within this single player
offering..."
